Hydrogen Cars: Truth or Dare?
Chevrolet Equinox Fuel Cell: How it Works

Based on the Sequel Fuel Cell vehicle, the Equinox Fuel Cell is a fully-functional crossover vehicle, is designed to meet all applicable 2007 U.S. Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards and is equipped with typical standard safety features including driver and passenger frontal air bags and roof rail side-impact air bags. The Sequel Fuel Cell vehicle has a range of around 300 miles, starts in subzero temperatures, and is based on GM’s AUTOnomy skateboard platform, as well as the GM Hy-wire concept. In fact, development of the Sequel has been steady, quick and shows signs of GM’s commitment to this technology. In the Equinox, the Sequel fuel cell is designed to travel 50,000 miles during its life and weight about 500 lbs. more than the regular Equinox, even after making the doors with aluminum and the hood with carbon fiber.
