2007 Chevrolet Avalanche Review

Chevrolet Avalanche – Wardlaw’s Opinion: Having grown up in the Midwest where people tow stuff and drive in the snow and do their own yard work instead of hiring landscapers to do it for them, it should come as no surprise that I’m a huge fan of the 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche. The main reasons are the handy midgate, the comfortable five-passenger interior, the powerful engines, the style, and the utility. Downsides are few. Fuel economy isn’t good, and while the Avalanche is E85-capable, good luck finding a convenient ethanol pump in 99-percent of the country. The price tag is exorbitant – our 2WD LT test truck was over $40,000, and the control layout is not glove-friendly. --Christian Wardlaw
