GENERAL COMMENTS

"Purchased the vehicle new in 2005. To date I have 67,000 miles on the Escape with no repairs beyond regular maintenance. Since I drive a distance everyday to work I appreciate the average of 24 miles per gallon. I drive between 65 and 70mph which may help my gas mileage. To date I am very happy with my Escape."

"Very enjoyable driving experience. Drives and handles like a passenger car. V6 very fast but just OK on Gas mileage (18 mixed city/highway Long Island area) and a bit noisy on hard acceleration. Leather interior very comfortable and looks sharp. Small SUV on the outside, but very roomy inside. The original Tires (Continental) are terrible; very harsh and noisy ride. After changing the tires, it was like driving a different vehicle; much softer and quieter ride, though still some wind noise on windy days at 65 mph. (I never knew how important tires are regarding the ride quality). No outside temperature or compass; I bought a new rear mirror on ebay."

"The Escape is much better than I was expecting. Strong engine power. Excellent handling without harsh ride. Not the tippy feeling of SUV driving. Small size is not too small, but spacious interior. Great fog lights. Tight turning radius. O/E Tires are very noisy and not confidence inspiring in the wet. I bought new Firestone tires. Quiet after unloading junk tires. With the V6 engine, I wasn't expecting Honda CRV gas mileage. But the gas mileage is not much better than my 2002 Grand Cherokee 4x4. The difference here is that the Jeep has a larger gas tank capacity. Wish the ventilation system had flow thru. Overall, a fun driving SUV that will surprise you at how well it goes about its operation. "

"This SUV is beautiful, it's the bigger in its class, the most sell small SUV. I love the leather, the V6 engine power, smooth ride, very quiet interior while you are either on and off road. I loved the limited edition since is body color bumpers and it comes very well equiped. I think is the best looking and the coolest SUV out there. If you test drive it, you buy it."

"I just purchase an Escape XLT with the V6 and Leather Seat Package, It also has the 6 CD Changer. In the beginning I was concerned about outside noises and how comfortable this vehicle could be. It has lots of power, at least compared to the 4 Cyl 4x4 Escape. Fuel Economy is not that bad for a 6 Cyl. I put about 180 miles a day on this baby and it drives fine. It is really confortable and no noises. So Far, I am loving it... I also heard fuel economy should improve after break-in. "
Ivan V. (Colorado Springs , Colorado - May, 2005)
